Join in dreaming up a future campus that addresses both the needs of the community it is embedded in and needs of young people ready to search (not re-search) new ways of working and studying. A campus where life, work, research and education is combined.
Bring all your dreams, all themes relevant and all examples you know of. First we’ll map the needs and dreams. On Friday June 18 we will be joined by many from the local community and surrounding area. With their dreams added, we will try to find ways of planning and collaborating towards a shared vision for education, life and work in this community.
You are what you eat. And we eat
beautiful food. We have taken on a pledge to use only healthy
ingredients (for human & planet), so all the food served during Sense
Festival will be fair-trade, non-GMO, vegetarian,
organic and to a large extent biodynamic.
We are working with local producers and
leading suppliers in organic produce to provide a tasty menu for
breakfast, lunch and dinner. All food is included in your participation
costs.
With Eosta Nature & More we are engaged in a conversation between producers and consumers, and we will be bring about a conversation about good food at Sense Festival!"Nature & More was created in response
to consumer demand for healthy, organic and fairly traded food. Their aim
is to communicate the commitment and effort that individual growers
make towards the planet and its people in order to empower consumers to
make informed purchasing decisions." » read more
In the mornings of Sense Festival we will be invited into a 20 minute powertalk to gear us up for the day. One of these talks will be given by Pieter Ploeg, a current YIP participant.
Pieter has worked with youth in social projects for about 5 years, from organizing international youth summer camps to setting up a youth network for social projects in the Netherlands and was very much involved in a project called Connectivity before he came to YIP.
He will be sharing his view on "Youth in the 21st century" and the magical quality of working with "Abundance".
Has seen 34 summers and is currently looking forward to the longest one so far. He has been active in working with youth and youth-activities for many years. He has been involved in many conferences and initiatives for, with and by youth. Since June 2008 he and his family have moved to Järna, Sweden to be organizing the International Youth Initiative Program.
His profession is best described as a practical dreamer or imagineer. He likes to move possibilities into probabilities wherever possible.
