Born on the southern tip
of Africa, Guy Collins has been playing guitar for almost 25 years. His interest
really took off when he was 15 on a warm day. The long distance sounds
from somewhere in the American south of Howlin' Wolf on Highway 49
beamed into the living room. Subsequently, Guy has become interested in
all roots and folk musics and the connection to the soul experiences to
which music connects every human being. While rock and blues music has
played a big part in his musical education, he has developed an interest
in all improvised music, especially the aspect of making music with
people who do not consider themselves musicians. Are we all able to tap
into the music behind the world?
The orchestra debuted in 2006 with "Slow Poison in Best Belly"
and is now working on the upcoming album "lives Tourism", with a planned
release in 2010. The music is based on baktakt - reggae
with elements of African, ska, punk soul and other tastes - and it is
always about lifting your toes and getting ready to dance!

The
founding members of Bisi CONGO come from the Congo, but have settled in Sweden.
After a
few years of living in Sweden, Bisi Congo was discovered by local musicians that were called by the joy that is present in both African culture and music and were inspired to join the group. Now they

People from the local community and the international community are coming together in Järna to perform collaborative action in four days. The action aspires to create profound relationships with ourselves and nature.
If we intend to perform action in Järna Community, we have to care about it. If we intend to ask the people in the community about their dreams we have to respect these dreams, fully embrace them and have the intention to fulfil them – through mind, heart or hand.
Mindfulness in Nature - the backbone of social business
a contribution to Sense Festival by Mark Hessellund Beanland Leadership starts with our inner selves. Sometimes we need to disconnect from the commitments and chaos of everyday life, in order to reconnect to deeper rhythms. Being alone in nature can be a powerful way to find your own truth and clarity.
At Sense Festival you will get a chance to join a miniature Nature Quest. Nature Quests are revisitations of ancient traditions practised by indigenous groups all over the world. Traditionally they are used as transitional rituals to help ease the process of deep change or personal discovery and realization. Beyond this it's a chance to spend time in nature, without distractions.
Beyond hosting these quests I'll give my perspectives on the direction of leadership in the 21st century and the challenges of taking it in the face of deeply embedded resistance to change, at a time where change is the only constant in the world.

What I see in the young people around me, is a desire for belonging and a desire to connect, but no direction of where to find a physical space that meets such needs.
Until I came to the Youth Initiative Program I had the same desires; however I was lost and unsure as to where I would achieve them- but now the answer is blindingly obvious...
Young people in today's society often have little direct connection to community- families are often spread over thousands of miles, even continents, friends disperse to new schools and colleges on a regular basis- so it is no surprise that direct Community plays such a minor role in their lifestyles. However I am adamant that more and more young people are craving the sense of community, connection and belonging that I have come to experience here at YIP - you see it in their virtual communities online, chat rooms, forums, social networks and the like- but its time we pushed the emergence of physical community and made it accessible not only to specific local communities but to a far wider reaching International community.
Here at YIP we have been blessed with a fantastic and fruitful year of experience and knowledge and now we all feel a deep desire and drive to share this with others and to help other Youth searching for a sense of inner and outer community to come and co-create theirs... This desire to share has taken the form of a fantastic Festival opportunity.
After months of visioning, hard work and organising it has manifested in the form of this, Sense Festival - where we welcome you to connect and engage in a collaborative learning environment, providing inspiration and encouragementthrough collective community action.
So don't delay, this is one of those opportunities that you can't afford to miss. Its time to register, its time to join in the inspiration and start creating that sense of community we are all striving for.
